Bangladesh Empowered is a nonprofit that develops young Bangladeshis for careers in diplomacy, international affairs, and public policy.
We fund students at universities across Bangladesh, including the University of Dhaka and North South University, and we’re building a network of former diplomats and policy experts to mentor them.

SCHOLARSHIP
Every promising student deserves a path to lead.
The Ambassador Serajul Islam Future Leaders Scholarship Program supports Bangladeshi students who have the drive to serve but not always the means. Scholars receive financial support and join a community preparing for careers in diplomacy and public service.
Leadership doesn’t happen by chance. Our programs give young Bangladeshis the education, mentorship, and experience to represent their country with confidence and integrity.
IN DEVELOPMENT · DIPLOMACY
A home for Bangladesh’s next diplomats.
The Ambassador M. Serajul Islam Center of Excellence in Diplomacy will train Bangladeshis to represent their country with skill and confidence. It will combine coursework in diplomatic practice, mentorship from experienced practitioners, and research on Bangladesh’s place in the world.

Ambassador M. Serajul Islam devoted his life to Bangladesh through diplomacy, public service, writing, and an unwavering belief in the power of people to shape their own future.
His career took him across the world as a diplomat, but his commitment to Bangladesh extended far beyond his official responsibilities. Through his writing and public advocacy, he challenged authoritarianism, defended democratic values, and called for a stronger, more self-reliant country.
His ideas continue to inform the work of Bangladesh Empowered and its commitment to developing leaders who can serve with courage, integrity, and purpose.
